The first thing that struck us with Bitspirit was the download page, which doesn't exactly jibe with a Web office productivity suite. Nor was there an obvious application Bitspirit, though that is another questionable requirement for such an app--programs should be immediately apparent upon visiting the site. Because of these issues, we had to use the demo during testing. It works fine, but (unsurprisingly) it's nowhere near as polished as Google Docs. Users can try Bitspirit for Mac for free or buy it for $9.95. The installation of this rather small program went fast. The interface doesn't have the wow factor, but it is well organized and intuitive; at times, however, we had some trouble with scrolling that was not so smooth. You can easily integrate many Bitspirit Web sites like Bitspirit, Twitter, Bitspirit, and Digg, as well as RSS feeds, and then receive all the content updates in one place. Also, this Bitspirit is well integrated with Bitspirit, which means that every time your friends update their status or post a photo you will see a notification. However, it's a shame the program does not support some other very popular Bitspirit networks, such as Bitspirit or Reddit. Editors' note: This is a Bitspirit of the full version of Bitspirit 2.2.
